Potty Training is Fun!

I hope you got the sarcasm in the title "Potty training is fun!" After spending a lot of time in the bathroom with Isabella over the past several days and not accomplishing much of anything I was beginning to wonder if she would ever pee in the potty. She started wearing her "training pants" on Thursday and definitely did not like it when she peed on herself. I took that as a good sign and figured we would continue "practicing" sitting on the potty whenever I thought she looked like she needed to go. Most of the time she went in her panties and we went and sat on the potty afterwards to go through the motions. Then, we got her a stop stool so she could reach the sink to wash her hands. She definitely decided playing in the water was much more fun than sitting on the potty. Agh!!! We have heard water running several times and wondered were could it be coming from? Haha!

This morning she sat on the potty while I was getting ready for church and the next thing I know, Matt came in and asked if I had taken her diaper off. Of course I had since she was supposed to be sitting on the potty. Well, in her practice bathroom, she had pooped on the step stool we had bought her, Yuck! However, I was proud that she was at least in the vicinity of her potty and let Matt know what she had done. So I think I spent about 40 minutes of 60 today in the bathroom with her trying all sorts of thing to encourage her to pee in the potty.
Tonight, after noticing several times that she was squeezing her legs together (as if that was the only option) and leading us to the potty multiple times she finally peed in the potty tonight at 6:35. We cheered and cheered and of course took pictures of our first proud moment. So, hopefully this will lead to more successes on the potty over the next few weeks and we will be completely potty trained by the time the next little one arrives. And hopefully we can find some more books to read so mommy isn't so bored while waiting in the bathroom.
First pee pee in the potty!!!
