8 years ago today I became Mrs. William Cardoza.

Matt and I were married in Statesboro, GA at First United Methodist Church by my grandfather, S. Carter Berkeley. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

I will never forget seeing Matt for the first time all dressed up. We were in the courtyard of the Statesboro Inn. Matt was sitting on a bench with his eyes covered. Our photographer took pictures of us as Matt took off his blindfold. He looks like a little kid with his shoulders scrunched up with excitement. I love that series of pictures.

We had know idea of what marriage would really be like, but I wouldn't trade Matt for anything. God has blessed my life by placing Matt in it. He has helped me to become a better person, forgiven me for the stupids things I do, and overlooks my "bad" habits. He continues to show me what it means to be a man of integrity and honesty. I praise God that our children have him as a father. For Isabella to know what it really means for a man to love you and for William to know what it means to be a "real" man. I love you, my love.

14 on the 14th

William is 14 months old today.

I have really enjoyed watching William move into toddler hood. He wants so much to be a "big boy". He tries to copy everything Isabella does. He loves to crawl up the stairs and slide down on his tummy. Man, he is fast too. He is also quite vocal and always lets us know when he wants something (usually to eat) or Isabella has done something to him.

He is really super cute and "all boy."

Still NO teeth.

Busy

We have been so busy lately that and I have neglected this blog.

We love the Christmas season. It is our most favorite time of year. I am just still having difficulty believing it is already here and almost 2010. Where has the time gone?!?

September- We took Isabella along with the May family to see Elmo and his green thumb. It was our first "show" and Isabella loved it.

October- We went to the mountains with the Mays and the Moons during the fall break. We stayed in Suches, Ga in the moutnains and had a great time. The kids and I also went home to Waynesboro to visit my family. Isabella loved riding Aunt Jennie and Uncle Patrick's golf cart around the field. We had a great time. We also went to the mountains with my family at the end of October. Nice and relaxing.

November- I took the kids along with the Mays to Imagine It!, the children's museum. It was very fun and a sensory overload. Then I took the kids back to Waynesboro to see my family before thanksgiving. We traveled to the mountains with Matt's family for Thanksgiving. The kids had a great time playing with each other and watching the deer in the woods.

December- We, the adults, went out on the town to see the Rocketts for the Christmas Spectacular. It was a lot of fun to be out without the kids. I hosted a Premier jewelry party last night with Stephanie as my jewelry lady. We had a great time.

That is just a small sampling of the extra things we have been doing recently.

13 months old

William is 13 months old today!
Our very good friend Zach took his 1 year pictures for us at the monastery a few weeks ago. Here are a few of them.

William trying to eat Isabella's food.

William really is ALL Boy!!! There is a huge difference between him and Isabella at this age. He is climbing on everything. He is able to get up onto the table if the chair is left pulled out from it. He also climbed onto the couch today without the stool.
He is able to walk where ever he wants.
He has started hitting Isabella for no apparent reason. It is actually kind of funny at times. However, I do think he is going to be our temper tantrum child. When we won't let him go outside, he throws himself onto the floor and cries. I just end up walking away. I think I will be doing a lot of that in the future.
He is pointing at things and "saying" words.
Still absolutely NO sign of teeth. If he is like his daddy, we have 5 more months to go before any show up.

Walker

William has started walking this week.

Little Bo Peep Has Lost Her Sheep...

And doesn't know where to find him.

Last week we celebrated Halloween as Little Bo Peep and her Sheep. I was able to attend Isabella's Halloween party to school. It was a lot of fun to meet her friends that she talks about at home. They played several games and had some good food too.

Mike and his wife Cabell, are friends of ours through YoungLife. Mike has been battling Stage 4 metastatic melanoma and is running out of treatment options. His doctors have given him one more experiemental treatment to try that has about a 50% success rate. However, his insurance will not pay for it and they are having to come up with the money. Please go to his site and read about him. Please also keep Sweeney and Cabell in your prayers in the coming weeks as they rely on God for comfort and peace.

ONE LITTLE MAN

Our litte man turned one year old today. I am beginning to miss my little baby even as I
delight in all the amazing new things he is doing every day. I really don't know how this past year has gone by so fast.

We had William's birthday party on Sunday with our family and a few friends. I made his cake and think it turned out pretty good.

A Man's Design

On Thursday after picking up the kids, we headed to Target to pick up some refills for the diaper genie. We have to have them or William's diapers stink up the whole place. As we were headed in, I put William in the buggy and usually give Isabella the option to walk holding onto the buggy or sitting inside. I was even able to ask her before she said "I have to tee-tee". I think this could possibly be the most dreaded thing I hear when I am out with both kids by myself.

"Great" I think to myself and I am silently yelling at myself for not having her go at Sarah's before we left her house. Oh well.

We walked over to the bathrooms and I decided it just might be easier to go into the family restroom which I don't know that I had really noticed before or possibly just forgotten about it. Isabella goes up to the door and knocks on it. I heard rustling around inside and someone say something. I told her she would have to wait. She proceed to knock a couple more times and say "can I come in?" I was laughing and trying to tell her that someone was in there and we would have to wait. It was so cute and funny. Between 5-10 minutes later, a mom, her2 kids and grandma come out of the bathroom. They said they were sorry and we exchanged a few words while I was laughing about Isabella trying to go in.

Now, here is the tricky part. All you mothers know this, espceially if you have more than one child and one of them can't walk yet but it too big to lay on the changing table because he just might fall off and suffer from a head injury. How do you assist your 3 year old get undressed and up onto the potty that is too high even though this is the family bathroom with no place to put your infant? Agh!

I got Isabella up onto the potty and she just wanted to talk. I was begging her to use the potty because by now I had to go too. So I pulled her off and sat down myself with William in my lap. I did seriously ponder if I could have asked a nice Target worker to assist me with him but thought better of the idea. Isabella did finally go on her second attempt while I got my clothes together and prayed that William would not fall of the changing table.

Then you have to try to wash your hands while holding your little one. Not my idea of fun since everyone gets wet no matter how hard to you to just wash your hands. Isabella then sat down on the floor, with her bare bottom, as I am saying over and over, "STAND UP, STAND UP!!!!" whiled trying to get her bottoms back up and on. I sure hope she doesn't contract some nasty disease from it.

So, now on to my point. I love it when store have the family restrooms. They can make things soooo much easier. I think they are a fantastic idea and applaud whoever came up with them. It is even nicer when they have nursing rooms (Macy's at Stonecrest does). But, my one complaint, whoever came up with them didn't think things all the way through. Or only has one child that is old enough to do everything himself. A man must have designed this idea. As a woman, I feel certain if a women had designed it, it would have a seat with straps for your infant to sit in so you could handle every one's business without difficulty. And I know they make them because I have used it at Babies R Us.

Have any of you had these fun experiences? Any advice?

Getting Closer

William is 11 months old!

And ALL over the place.

He loves to go outside and cries if you open the door and close it before he gets there or don't let him out.

He is starting to say "more" when prompted for more food.

He definitely has stranger anxiety. I guess I should call it "if your not mommy anxiety" since he seems to always want me and will scream if someone picks him up that he doesn't see on a regular basis.

He likes to sweep. I am hoping he will continue to enjoy cleaning as he grows up. Someone in our house needs to.

He is begining to enjoy some "real" food too even though he still doesn't have any teeth. Maybe some pearly whites will show up this month.
He is crusing and also begining to walk with his push toy

HHI

Over the Labor Day weekend we were able to go to Hilton Head Island with my family. The kids had a great time playing on the beach. William LOVED crawling in the sand and even enjoyed eating some. Isabella had a good time digging in the sand too but neither one of them wanted to go into the ocean. Maybe next year.

Here are some pictures in no particular order.
