Febuary- We found out Isabella was going to be a big sister. We were very excited and are praying that Isabella transitions well. So, we will have to see how that goes. I am due October 18th and we are not planning on finding out what we are having.
We had our first ultrasound around 8 weeks and everything looked good. We were very thankful. Then, Matt had to have surgery to replace his malfunctioning VP shunt mid-March. Everything went smoothly except for the 2 ER visits since they sent us home the first time and then called us back the next day to say something was wrong. Next time we will just go ahead and request a neuro consult right off the bat. Matt had his shunt replaced on that Monday and we went home on Tuesday. He immediately felt better except for the PAIN from surgery. He rebounded quickly though and returned to work the next week "part-time" against my better judgement. He had a beautiful hair cut for a while and a much larger scar. Isabella did great while we were at the hosptial. She stayed with Ms Gina and enjoyed her time very much. We knew we didn't need to worry about her so that was very much a relief.April- April came and went with a flash. Our friend Bailey had her little boy, Landon, on April 6. I was in the delivery room when he was born and it was amazing! It definitely reminded me of the things I had forgotten during labor and delivery and the things to come in October. THen we had spring break and Isabella and I were able to enjoy ourselves at home. I took Isabella over to meet Landon. It was very interesting. She wasn't very sure about him at first but came around and gave him hugs and kisses before we left. She started staying with our good friend Sarah and her little boy Micah during the day. She transitioned very well and we have been pleased. She loves to play with Micah and look at Daisy out the window. They copy everything the other one does and it is pretty entertaining.
At the end of the month, Isabella turned 2. We had a Winnie the Pooh birthday party with a few family and friends. She had a good time and actually blew out her candles. We had to practice to several weeks.
