Annual Girls’ Weekend

Upon arrival with our crowns

Every year, for the past 9 years, I have been treated to a trip with a couple of my girlfriends (Emily & Michelle). Matt stays home with the kids and occasionally gets some help from his parents.

Our trips have evolved over the past nine years. We have spent time at the lake, in the mountains, and the past 2 years at the beach. They also vary from 1-2 trips a year, usually just one since the kids have come along. However we do also try to get together with the rest of our families so the boys can hang out and the kids too.

This year we traveled down to Panama City Beach on this past Thursday. Our car trips are always so much fun. We talk non-stop and catch up on all the things that have been going on in our lives. Michelle lives here in Atlanta but travels internationally a good bit for the company she works for. Emily and I are a little jealous of that. She always has great adventures and has been able to see some great places. Emily lives in Milledgeville with her husband and 2 kids. He is the associate pastor at a local church there and that keeps them very busy too. Needless to say, we treasure our time together.

We made it to the beach around 2:30 and were lying on the beach by 3:30. FYI-if you every get your groceries at Wal-Mart and want shrimp, they will steam it for you with seasoning. We have done this both years and it is really good. We were out on the beach by 9:00 both mornings and spent all day Friday on the beach then at the pool and about half the day on Saturday. After ddeciding it would probably be best to get out of the sun so we wouldn't look like lobsters. We went out to eat Saturday night at J Michaels. Yum-Yum.

Girls- Thanks for the great times and memories.

Matt- Thanks for keeping the kids so I can have some girl time.
