Michael and Krista Edwards are our dear friends. I remember meeting Michael 7 1/2 years ago at a YoungLife Christmas party right before Matt and I got married. Then seeing him at our wedding and thinking, "there is that guy from YoungLife". Little did I know how much impact Michael would have on our lives since then.

Michael and I are like brother and sister and fought like that for the first several years we knew each other. I was constantly reminding him that just because he is an only child doesn't mean our little world revolved around him. He did a much better job teaching me about Jesus' love, grace and mercy than I could have ever imagined. He taught me that no matter how much I loved a kid and showed her the face of Jesus, I could not make that decision for her. I could only pray with and for her and support her when she needed it the most. I have been blessed to hear about some of my previous YoungLifers and how they are now making a difference in the world for Christ. It just shows you how perfect God's timing is and how amazing he is! That is all thanks to Michael and his love for high school kids and his ministry here.

Krista came into our lives about a year and a half ago when she began attending Christ Community Church. They began dating shortly after that and were married this past March. Krista also has a great love for high school students. She has been a counselor at Salem High School and is also certified in special education. She was able to secure a job in Statesboro at Statesboro High teaching inclusion. Which was definitely an answer to prayer.

I have no doubt that their ministry through YoungLife will flourish down in Statesboro and our friendship will remain constant.
