Kirby

We didn't get a dog and name it Kirby but we did get a new vacuum cleaner.

Last night we were finishing up dinner around 6:30. Which is pretty early for us. A lot of time we are just sitting down or still cooking. I was thinking about all the things we could get done since we were finished so early (Baths, straightening up for the cleaning lady that is coming later in the week, putting up laundry, that sort of stuff) when there was a knock at the door. I thought, "who is bothering us now?" I continued sitting at the table hoping maybe they would go away and that Matt would possibly ignore the knock.

He did not ignore the knock. There was a lady at the door asked something about the carpet etc. I was half listening and still thinking about all the things to get done. Matt asked me if we had time to have a demonstration of the carpet being cleaned. I thought "NO, I have other things to do." But I just mumbled "yes" and stayed at the table with the kids. By this time Isabella was having a fit to get down and see the "girl" at the door.

Well, it turned out to be a representative from Kirby and the Kirby salesman (Jesse Payne) then showed up at our door at 6:45 and proceeded to go into his "presentation". I had heard about the Kirby before and wondered how people go them. He vacuumed the carpet, couch cushion, our mattress with the allergenic cover over it, and our foyer. It was absolutely disgusting. I even took pictures so I could post them after I get them off my camera. I will gladly admit that I am NOT a good housekeeper and the last thing I really want to do is get the vacuum out and clean. It is just not a priority in my life at this point and I don't know if that will ever change.

Anyway, I have been thinking recently about our carpet and upholstered furniture and the kids. William will start crawling in the next few months and the carpet just seems dirty even though we have had it cleaned a couple of times. Stains just seem to reappear.

The nastiness that came out of our stuff

Needless to say, we bought the Kirby. We were able to trade in our vacuum which helped a little. But I am excited about knowing that I am actually doing something next time I vacuum.
If I had not had to work today I probably would have stayed up and cleaned everything! But since it was after 9:00 at this point and I still had to feed William I just cleaned the carpet in the family room.

So, let me know if you would like to see it in action the next time you are over. It is really cool.

I am dying!!! Have I told you about our Kirby experience!?!?! I mean I agree they are amazing vacuums and find super gross stuff that you didn't know was there, but every time I hear that word I think of Zach letting in this random woman who barely even knew how to work the vacuum she was showing and then couldn't leave because her ride was late to pick her up and I just laugh!

That is hilarious! He actually knew what he was doing since he owned one before he started selling them. So, not too much fumbling around. Haha.

I think you need to bring it to my classroom. I bet we can suck up all kinds of nasties! Then I might buy one. Do you get a deal if you refer someone? Or maybe you can sell them during the summer?? :)
