Thirty?!?

Ok. So I will go ahead and admit that I will be turning 30 a only 2 months. I have always been ok about turning 30 and that type of thing. I do remember the days when I thought 30 was old but those are long gone. Like probably 15 years ago or something like that.

Me and Michelle
One of my best friends turned 30 today. Happy Birthday Shell!!! Michelle and I met in the fourth grade sitting out in the hallway in the afternoons waiting to leave school. We were in different classes and she had just started public school. We would always giggle at one of the older teachers that would always say "You may pass" when it was time to go. Well, in our 10
year old little minds, we thought "you may pass what? Gas?" I mean come on, who says that? So there the friendship began and has continued throughout the years. Middle school- dating the twins; High school, ups and downs; college roomies and into real adult life. I have been so blessed by your friendship and I thank you for all you have done for me.

Look at all those candles

Matt and I had a great time at Michelle's birthday party this past weekend. A couple of her friends got together and planned a fantastic evening at home. We had lobster, green beans, grits with corn casserole, salad and dessert. It was also great getting to catch up with Michelle's parents who I have not seen in a while.

My Lobster

Back to the reason I began writing this blog. I am sure I am just like everyone else in the fact that as you get closer to 30 the younger it actually seems. I certainly don't think of 30 as old. I knew I was going to be turning the big three oh this year. However, when I got the invitation to Michelle's party and saw 30 in big red letters, it hit me. I had to ask myself, "Is it really 2009 already?" and "is my birth certificate correct?" 30 just seems like a long time to be around. So thirties, here I come and I am ready to take you on. 2009 is the BIG year.

Zach was shocked when he saw you were going to be 30! He kept saying LEslie's 30...really!? I always thought it was old too but since I'll be knockin on that door in 2 1/2 short years it seems young young young!
