8 years ago today I became Mrs. William Cardoza.
Matt and I were married in Statesboro, GA at First United Methodist Church by my grandfather, S. Carter Berkeley. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
I will never forget seeing Matt for the first time all dressed up. We were in the courtyard of the Statesboro Inn. Matt was sitting on a bench with his eyes covered. Our photographer took pictures of us as Matt took off his blindfold. He looks like a little kid with his shoulders scrunched up with excitement. I love that series of pictures.
We had know idea of what marriage would really be like, but I wouldn't trade Matt for anything. God has blessed my life by placing Matt in it. He has helped me to become a better person, forgiven me for the stupids things I do, and overlooks my "bad" habits. He continues to show me what it means to be a man of integrity and honesty. I praise God that our children have him as a father. For Isabella to know what it really means for a man to love you and for William to know what it means to be a "real" man. I love you, my love.
