I got a call from my friend Emily on Friday afternoon around 3:00 while I was still at work. She was on her way home and had 2 flat tires. She was at a gas station and didn't know what to do. She had both of her kids with her and was only a few miles away on the interstate from my office. I made a couple of calls for her and headed to pick her up. Firestone towed her van and we picked up my kiddos and headed to our house for an afternoon of relaxing while her van was fixed. It was nice to catch up and hang out unexpectedly. Thanks for the afternoon, Em.

Happy Birthday
We spent the first long weekend, Labor Day weekend, at my parents house to celebrate my mom's birthday and visit with the family. We gave mom another picture album of the kiddos.
I made a caramel cake because it is her favorite. It was my first caramel cake and I would not have finished it without Patrick's help. Thanks man. Happy Birthday Mom.

All About Me
Isabella was assigned her first real homework this week. It was a project and we already had a very busy week in our house. She worked hard on it and even commented at one point that "this is hard for me". I had to take a step back and remember it is her work and would not be perfect. She did a great job and it turned out great! I was so proud of her.

Camp
YOUNGLIFE
YoungLife has become a ministry near and dear to my heart over the last 10 years. I was introduced to YL by just jumping in to winter camp in January 2002 only 6 weeks after getting married. I can't really say I was all smiles and happy to be hanging out with high school students in our spare time. But over time, God changed my heart and I fell in love with the hearts of high school kids and the ministry of YL. It has taught me many things over the past 10 years. The biggest would be God's grace and mercy and how they apply to my life.
I started in YL as a volunteer leader with Matt. We ministered to kids for around 5 years and have had the privilege of watching God work in their hearts. When Isabella was born, we moved to the committee because we wanted to stay involved. That is where we have served for the past 5 years.
Sarah and I went to the committee weekend held up at Sharptop Cove this past weekend. It was a great weekend seeing some familiar faces and getting more direction on where our committee should be headed. We both went into the weekend feeling overwhelmed and left feeling energized and knowing that God has some plans for us.
Prayer was a BIG feature of the weekend. We both left realizing how much we need to be praying for everything. I think we prayed more together this weekend than we have over the past 7 years knowing each other.
Please join us in praying for YL. Also, is you are interested in YL as a ministry opportunity we would love to talk to you.
The last time I spent the night at camp I was pregnant with Isabella. Now, Sarah is pregnant with baby boy number 3 or "Jackson" as I refer to him. Ha ha!
