Isabella got her 4th set of ear tubes today. Her 3rd set was in March of this year and the right T-tube had fallen out by our 3 month checkup. So we knew she would most likely need another set of tubes once the cold weather hit.
She started last Sunday afternoon with an ear infection and we already had scheduled ENT appointment for last Wednesday. Once there was discovered that she actually had an outer ear and there was fluid in the inner ear. So we started antibiotics and scheduled surgery for today.
She had a new type of tubes put in called U-tubes in the hopes that they will last longer or at least get us through the winter. She was a trooper even though she was scared about going back and having to put the mask on her face. I get to go back with her until she is asleep so that helps some. She seems to be doing well after a little bout with nausea due to her pain meds.
While we were sitting at the table eating a little lunch I said, "Well hopefully you will be able to hear a little better since you got your ears fixed."
And Isabella appropriately responded, "What?"
And I just had to laugh.
