Long HHI weekend

We were invited by my parents for a "long weekend" at the beach. Growing up, long weekend, meant a little something different to us. My dad works shift work, so once a month he was on what we call long weekend. He gets off on Friday afternoon around 4:00 and doesn't have to go back until the next Wednesday night at midnight to start the cycle over again. My parents have used it to their advantage since they are empty nester's and get to take vacations over some of my Dad's long weekends.

They planned a trip in May during my Dad's long weekend and we all were able to come. Jennie and Patrick left on Monday and we left on Tuesday to head back home. The weather was cool there just like it was in Atlanta. We got less sun than we were hoping for but had a good time playing in the water.

More action shots. I love the way the water is splashing up in front of him while he is running.

She has been hinting around for awhile that she wanted a picture book of the kids and was so excited to finally get one.

Isabella was hanging out by the pool. Later she laid down on the towel like she was laying out.
When we went out on Monday the tide was just starting to retreat. It left a rather large "river" and we found lots of cool sea creatures still in it. Here is a jelly fish. We also followed a stingray for awhile but I didn't have my camera with me to take a picture. Fun science lessons.
The kids were fascinated with the starfish Jennie found.

William fed the bird so he kept coming back.
